This is my paternal grandfather, Dr. Kay Bonner Urban, M.D. on his way to a missionary trip in South America, standing on the waterfront across from New York City in 1919. I had never seen this picture before until I found some old box camera negatives, which I scanned, that were contained in an envelope dated 1919 inside a box with my Great Aunt's remaining worldly possessions. Surprisingly, there wasn't a lot of restoration I had to do to this photo.
This is my paternal grandmother, Carol Margaret (Smith) Urban in South America with her husband during a missionary trip in 1919. She always shielded her skin from the sun and until her death, her skin had very little wrinkles. This negative had several vertical scratches I had to fix with the healing brush using the shift-pick method. I am very plesed with the result.
